During a comprehensive study conducted in January and February 2024, we analyzed 152 respondents, including PhD students, young professionals and scientists from Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Despite their academic competences and diverse experiences in their fields, many young researchers encounter difficulties in establishing cooperation with industry and do not consider starting their own companies.
Respondents identified both strengths and gaps in their knowledge and skills. Deficits in the area of entrepreneurship and starting your own business are particularly visible. Additionally, the ability to obtain and manage financing appears to be a significant challenge.
