Join this special webinar focused on Open Science, research reproducibility, and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), which together help transform research outcomes into real-world impact. The webinar consists of three parts, covering both theoretical and practical aspects.
The first part introduces the concept of Open Science, highlighting how transparency and accessibility can transform research. The session will explore its roots, evolution, and key principles, emphasizing the roles of different stakeholders – from researchers and institutions to citizens. Practical aspects such as open access publishing, open data and data management, open-source software, citizen science, and responsible research assessment will also be discussed.
The second part focuses on reproducibility as the foundation of trustworthy and impactful research. Participants will learn why reproducibility serves as a quality control mechanism in science, strengthens trust in research findings, enables verification, supports self-correction, and ensures that future research builds on reliable foundations.
The third part introduces the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) – a European ecosystem for open science and research data. The session will cover the role of the EOSC Association, the current stage of building the EOSC Federation, and how EOSC services support researchers and innovation communities. The concept of national EOSC nodes, including the development of the EOSC SK Node, will also be presented, highlighting both opportunities and challenges in integrating national infrastructures into the European ecosystem.
